Prayers From The Gospels

For Faith In Christ

John 3:14-19, 35-36; Mat 16:16

Christ Jesus my Lord, I believe that You are the Son of God. You once said, “Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so, must the Son of man be lifted up:  That whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

So marked, indeed, has been God loved for the world, that he gave You, His only begotten Son, that everyone who believes in You should not perish, but to have everlasting life.  God did not send You into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through You might be saved.

The Father Loves You, His Son, and has put all things at Your disposal.  He who believes in You is not condemned: but He that believes not in You is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  And this is the condemnation, that light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.

Lord, increase my faith in You! With Simon Peter, I exclaim, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
