Jesus now speaks to his handful of followers about more serious matters, particularly about how God will finally solve the problem of wide-spread human sin. Christ himself will appear in the sky, and the world will be horrified by the realization that its time of judgement has come. For those who love Jesus in truth this will be a time of great joy–at last their long-awaited exodus from suffering to glory has come. This is the goal of all things that become clearer as the days pass. Let us who call his name make our hearts ready to receive him.

The Coming of the Son of Man

Right after those days of suffering, “The sun will become dark, and the moon will no longer shine.  The stars will fall, and the powers in the sky will be shaken.”  Then a sign will appear in the sky. And there will be the Son of Man. All nations on earth will weep when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  At the sound of a loud trumpet, he will send his angels to bring his chosen ones together from all over the earth. Matthew 24: 29-31

Mark 13:24-27

Strange things will happen to the sun, moon, and stars. The nations on earth will be afraid of the roaring sea and tides, and they won’t know what to do.  People will be so frightened that they will faint because of what is happening to the world. Every power in the sky will be shaken.
Then the Son of Man will be seen, coming in a cloud with great power and glory.  When all of this starts happening, stand up straight and be brave.  You will soon be set free. Luke 21:25-28
