Today’s Verses – Are You Grieving?

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.  For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.

Sing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth; break forth, O mountains, into singing!  For the LORD has comforted his people and will have compassion on his afflicted.  Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.  Therefore we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions that you are enduring.  This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life.

“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”  The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.  Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Today’s Scriptural Inspirations
Matthew 5:27-37

Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shall not commit adultery:  but I say unto you, that every one that looked on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.  And if thy right eye caused thee to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from thee:  for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not thy whole body be cast into hell.  And if thy right hand caused thee to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from thee:  for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not thy whole body go into hell.

It was said also, whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:  but I say unto you, that every one that puts away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, makes her an adulteress:  and whosoever shall marry her when she is put away commits adultery.

Again, ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shall not forswear thyself, but shall perform unto the Lord thine oaths:  but I say unto you, swear not at all; neither by the heaven, for it is the throne of God; nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.

Neither shall thou swear by thy head, for thou canst not make one hair white or black.

But let your speech be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: and whatsoever is more than these is of the evil one.
