Philippians 4:8

Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things.

What of Today’s Verse…

Our actions follow our thoughts like a heat-seeking missile follows the exhaust of a jet fighter’s engine. So in a day when so much around us trains us to find the negative in life, we must aggressively think and pursue the character, the qualities, and the things of God’s goodness.

Let us Pray:

Holy and Magnificent God, thank you for being better than anything my world can offer me. Thank you for calling me to a higher standard than the world accepts. Thank you for giving me the promise of a better future than any human can imagine. Thank you for giving me a high calling. In Jesus’ holy name I pray. Amen.

Guidance

I am confident as I listen to and act upon divine guidance.

Certain familiar sounds alert me to what I’m to do next: The buzz of an alarm announces that it’s time to begin my day. The sound of my ringtone signals me to answer an incoming call. I may receive instructions from a supervisor, teacher, or mentor. I am always open to the guidance that comes to me seemingly out of the blue.

Yet it is in the silence that I receive the most profound guidance. I rest quietly in a place that is peaceful and comfortable. I breathe, relax, and become attuned to the many types of direction heard in my life.

My faith in divine guidance expands and enhances my receptivity to it. Solutions and answers become crystal clear. With this time in reflective prayer, I build discernment and confidence. I am blessed as I move with readiness to positive action.
